Six Bulking Breakfast Oats

Oats are a great start to the day and possibly the best way to get in your morning protein, refuel for the day, get a headstart on your calorie consumption for bulking, plus load up on fiber and micro nutrients. But plane oats, though great, get boring if you have them every day. They also can be boosted a great deal in terms of nutritional content with a few easy additions. So, here is my personal rotation of breakfast oat recipes I use to keep things interested and support my goals — especially bulking. Apple Pie Oats

Apple Pie Oats with Mass Gainer Protein Powder

Like dessert for breakfast, only healthy.

  • 1 cup low fat milk (or preferred alternative)
  • 1/2 medium size apple, cut into chunks
  • 1/3 cup rolled oats
  • 1 scoop Grow by Steve Vanilla whey protein powder or 1 scoop Bulk by Steve Vanilla mass gainer protein powder
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of cinnamon
  • A pinch of salt
  • 20 almonds, chopped

Step 1: Put the milk and chopped apple into a small put and bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally until the apple is softened — about 5 minutes.
Step 2: Add oats, syrup, protein powder, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt. Simmer until oats are plump — another 5 – 7 minutes.
Step 3: Garnish with almonds.

Peaches & Cream Overnight Oats

Peaches: “nature’s candy in my hand or can… or oats”. One of the most naturally sweet breakfasts you can whip up, with some impressive macros.

  • 1 medium sized peach, chopped
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup low fat Greek yogurt
  • 1/3 cup low fat milk
  • 1 scoop Grow by Steve Vanilla whey protein powder or 1 scoop Bulk by Steve Vanilla mass gainer protein powder
  • A pinch of cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 10 almonds, chopped

Step 1: Stir together the peach, oats, protein powder, yogurt, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
Step 2: Leave in the fridge overnight.
Step 3: Serve straight from the fridge after garnishing with almonds.

Cookie-dough Overnight oats

Cookie-dough Oats with Mass Gainer Protein Powder

A classic combination, now ready to drink!

  • 2/3 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/3 cup rolled oats
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 2 tablespoons raisins
  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter
  • 1 scoop Grow by Steve Cookies & Cream whey protein powder or 1 scoop Bulk by Steve Vanilla mass gainer protein powder
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Step 1: Put all ingredients in a sealable container and stir until combined (or combine in a bowl and transfer to container.
Step 2: Seal container and refrigerate overnight.
Step 3: Serve straight from the fridge.

Chocolate Pudding & Strawberries Overnight Oats

Chocolate Strawberry Oat Pudding with Mass Gainer Protein Powder

Another dessert for breakfast only healthy dish. My favourite! This recipe makes two servings.

  • 3/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 3/4 cup low fat milk
  • 1 scoop Grow by Steve Vanilla whey protein powder or 1 scoop Bulk by Steve Vanilla mass gainer protein powder
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 6-8 strawberries, sliced with stems removed.

Step 1: Blend oats, yogurt, milk, honey, cocoa powder, protein powder, and peanut butter in a food processor until smooth.
Step 2: Pour unto a sealed container (or two) and refrigerate overnight.
Step 3: Serve cold, topped with strawberries.

Coco-Cherry

Cherry ripe smoothie for mass gaining

A classic combination, even better with oats. When cherries are in season, they becomes my go-to.

  • 2/3 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/3 cup rolled oats
  • 1/3 cup light coconut milk
  • About a dozen fresh cherries, pitted.
  • A scoop Grow by Steve Vanilla whey protein powder or 1 scoop Bulk by Steve Vanilla mass gainer protein powder
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened desiccated coconut, shredded
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt

Step 1: Combine all ingredients in a sealable container and stir.
Step 2: Seal container and leave in the fridge overnight.
Step 3: Serve straight from the fridge.

PB & J Oats

PB & J Oats with Mass Gainer Protein Powder

If you thought it made a good combo on white bread, you’ve got to try it as breakfast oats!

  • 1/2 cup rolled oat
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 6 fresh strawberries, chopped into chunks without stems.
  • 1 scoop Grow by Steve Strawberry Dream whey protein powder or 1 scoop Bulk by Steve Strawberry Dream mass gainer protein powder
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt
  • The whites of 3 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon of strawberry jam

Step 1: Put the oats, almond milk, water, strawberries, honey, vanilla, and salt into a small pot and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the mixture is thick and the oats are plump — about 5 – 7 minutes. Then remove from heat.
Step 2: Whisk egg whites in a bowl until bubbly. Add protein powder and stir, then add the cooked oatmeal mixture a spoonful at a time, whisking between spoons, until fully combined. The oat mixture should be warm enough to move smoothly but not hot enough to cook the egg whites.
Step 3: Pout mixture back into the pot and cook on a low heat, stirring constantly for 2 – 3 minutes until thick. Avoid using too much eat so the eggs do not scramble.
Step 4: Top oatmeal with peanut butter to serve.
