Description

Ice cream that is low in calories and high in protein sounds impossible, but it’s actually easy and delicious with this recipe! Like my coffee banana bread recipe, most of the protein is micellar casein, which released slowly over about 6 hours. This unique property means casein can supply your body with the nutrients it needs to repair your muscles while you sleep, another reason this ice cream make a great desert!

Ingredients

350 g frozen strawberries
1 scoop (40 g) Recover by Steve Strawberry Dream casein protein powder (10% off with code: ICECREAM10)
300 ml unsweetened almond milk
1 pinch of salt

Optional
Mix it up with your choice of toppings, mix-ins, and sauces (not included in calories and macros above).
Toppings: fresh strawberries, raspberries, or blackberries. Sugar free biscuit pieces.
Mix-ins: sugar free choc chips (especially white choc)
Sauces: sugar free caramel sauce

Instructions

  • Blend all ingredients (except optional mix-ins etc) together in a strong blender. A weaker blender won’t be able to handle the thickness we are aiming for. You may still need to use a wooden spoon to move the mixture around and blend evenly. Continue until mixture is a dense, ice cream consistency.
  • Fold in chosen mix-ins and store in the freezer. Serve in bowls with desired toppings and sauces.
